Do you currently find yourself confused on whether you should be using free or premium wordpress themes? You do understand that there is a big difference between these two, and that’s not just because the other one you have to pay for.

You really have to think first of what will be your purpose for your site. Do you want it to be simply a blog where you can post your daily thoughts about anything at all? Then if that’s the case, free wordpress themes will be a good choice for you. That is if you are not too picky and you don’t mind that other bloggers are also using the same theme just like you.

However, if you have grander intentions for your blog, then you can benefit more from better features that are available in premium wordpress themes. Think of it this way. A web designer or developer will only have the guts to ask for a price for his wordpress themes if he can assure the buyer that they will be better bloggers when they use it. To achieve that purpose the premium theme should be a lot easier to modify than free wordpress themes. It should also offer better plugins for easy customizability. There should be features not found on free themes and the design itself must be cutting edge, otherwise the blog will just look the same as everybody else’s.

But if you would say that you can just get a free theme and then hire a designer to modify it for you, then that is completely fine. However, you will still spend money on the modifications and usually it will cost you more to hire a web designer than simply purchasing a premium theme.
