If you are just starting to blog and you have decided to make use of wordpress and wordpress themes for your blog, then just like the many others before you, probably you are having a hard time deciding which theme to use. Some blogging purists may tell you that the theme is not important, what you need to focus on are the content that you post on your blog. While this may be slightly true, however it is also vital that you have a theme that has a good layout, if only for better navigation or usability for your blog visitors’ sake.

But since you are just starting out, then you should just go with free wordpress themes for now just until you get the full hang of it. By then if you decide to upgrade to a better looking or more sophisticated theme, then that’s the best time for you to consider premium or paid wordpress themes. Why is this so? Because since you are just a beginner, most premium themes are really meant more for web developers so they are usually more complicated to use and to understand.

Now on the question on which one is better, it’s actually a matter of presence. For example, if all that you want in a theme can already be found in some free wordpress themes, then choose one of them instead of premium themes. Because what’s the point of paying for something that you can actually get for free legally?

Now all wordpress themes have their own learning curve because of the way it is coded and because of its layout as well. You still have to get used to your theme whether it’s a free or premium one. It does become easier to use as you are frequently exposed to it. so the best thing to do is to keep your current theme for a few months until you get bored of it or you find something better.
